The Sims 3 Store - The Deliciously Indulgent Bakery + Free Download

Hello, everyone! Today, I will be overviewing the Deliciously Indulgent Bakery. This venue is currently 1,900 SimPoints (or $19), but there will be a free download featured at the end of this post! It comes with 17 items, including two premium contents; the Baker's Station and the Baker's Bazaar Collection.

The building itself has a very classic style. It appears to be made out of stone brick and there are awnings scattered around the building. A small french-style fence surrounds the circumfrence of the building, protecting colorful blooms. This fence is found on all three stories of the bakery.

On the inside, there are many stylish rooms. There's the main floor where the goods are made and where most of the customers sit to eat. It has the counter that shows off the fresh and delicious buns, breads, cakes and more. On the second floor there is a balcony-style seating area, a small fence keeps Sims from falling after tasting how amazing food is.

There is also a seating area outdoors, with foliage encircling the area in order to spruce up the view.

The baking area is very cutely decorated, with decorations that you would really find in a bakery.
The bakery itself comes with many "food" decorations, such as bags of flour and cupcake tins.

Here is the complete of all 17 items that come with this venue:

• Baker's Station*
• Baker's Bazaar Collection
• Deliciously Indulgent Bakery
• Half Baked Awning
• Fresh Baked Awning
• Decadent Dessert Poster in a Window
• Single Vision de Dessert Window

• Flour Sack*
• Faux Bread in a Bucket*
• The Perfect Plastic Pie*
• Handy Cookie Jar
• Bake-A-Lot Cookbooks*
• Today's Special Wall Sign

(All items with a star* are pictured in the photo above)

The Baker's Bazaar Collection, one of the included premium content items, is very similar to the Savvy Seller's Collection that comes with Midnight Hollow. It actually has items included with it. These items are:

• Delightful Dessert Display
• Rustic Bakery Rack
• Baker's Sales Rugs
• Sweet Nothing Simoleon Register

Here are some helpful facts about this premium content:

• None of the food placed in these display cases (it can be any food, not just baked goods) will spoil, as the cases are refrigerated.
• After you sell the items, they will disappear from the shelves and will eventually need restocking after you sell out.
• The hired cashier will always be at their post and unlike with the Savvy Seller's Collection, there will never be a "cashier can't make it to work" notice.

The Sims 3 Guide to Dragon Valley

Happy Saturday, everyone! This post will cover every aspect of Dragon Valley, the ninth town purchasable from the Sims 3 Store. Here is the description EA gives us;

Welcome to Dragon Valley, a land of myth and fantasy. It's been years since any adult dragons have terrorized this peaceful town but it's not yet time to rest. The elven Sims of Dragon Valley are working to ensure that their military is up to par, their citizens are prepared for disaster, and that the scientific techniques they've used to keep the dragonlings small stay intact. The skies may be clear for now, but beneath the surface a conflict is brewing between the Mithrilen and O'Connell families for control of town. It's tradition vs. progress; on which side will you stand?

The standard version of Dragon Valley is currently 2,000 SimPoints or $20, while the gold version is 3,500 or $35 BUT you get 1,900 free SimPoints.                                                               Dragons!

The premium content items that come with this world are three varieties of dragon; the red, the green and the purple dragon.
They come in the form of eggs which you can find in buy mode. If you buy the Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire venue, you will also get a black armored dragon egg. When you buy an egg, all you have to do to start the hatching process is interact with it; i.e talking to it. The color of the dragon inside the egg is determined by what you talk to the it about. There are eight topics you can to choose from; your job, friends, the weather, fire, enemies, your physical prowess, existentialism and the egg paradox. When the dragon hatches, it will move on the floor and hatch into a puff of smoke.

Red Dragons: The red dragon represents fire. They are the most hot-headed little creatures and are willing to spit fireballs at your enemies just for you! If you are the evil-type, you can also ask them to cast their "Fiery Torment" charm on a Sim to watch them dance. These dragons can also help boost your Sim's athetic skill, in quick but short bursts. Another benefit of having a red dragon is when you put it on your arm, it gives you the moodlet "Mark of the Red Dragon", which keeps your energy and hygiene bar filled completely for the duration of the moodlet time.

Purple Dragons: The purple dragon represents charisma and friends. They are very social and exuberant–for they can even summon a new friend right to your door and bring them back anytime you want–which greatly improves the relationship you have with this friend!  These dragons also love parties. If you throw a party, make sure your purple dragon is there because it will be the "Life of the Party", making the get-together they're attending much more fun and enjoyable–it will even be named  the "Best Party Ever!" Like the red dragon, they can also cast a charm. It's called the "Rune Charm" and when casted on a Sim, it will give them a +20 mood boost. Also like the red dragon, they will give you a moodlet when on your arm called "The Mark of the Purple Dragon" which raises your fun and social bar.

Green Dragons: The green dragon represent the abundance of the Earth. They are great collectors and gatherers and can summon treasure every hour! They can also harvest all of the plants in your garden for you, which will automatically pop into your Sim's inventory. These dragons can even teach your Sim the gardening skill. When the green dragon is on your arm, "The Mark of the Green Dragon" moodlet appears which keeps your bladder and hunger bar full.

Armored Black Dragon: This dragon comes with the Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire. It is closely related to death and curses. It can even summon death flowers and ghosts right to your Sim. This dragon can teach your Sim the logic skill. They can curse a Sim with their "Phantasmal Curse", which turns the targeted Sim into a zombie,if you have Supernatural installed and if not, it just curses them. When this dragon is on your arm, you will recieve "The Mark of the Black Dragon" moodlet which keeps their energy and hunger bars up.

                                                             The World

This world is set in medieval times and can be associated with European countries like Ireland. This world has plenty of large lots so it's great for builders. There are 22 empty lots in all (so you can place EP lots and such) all found on the north side of the map. The center of town is where you can find most of the important buildings such as city hall, the book store, the business tower, etc. much like most of the other worlds.

Here is a complete list of the buildings that come with Dragon Valley (some also given in the item list) with descriptions given to us by EA:

Miser McCann's Restaurant (Bistro) -- 59 Ardmore Avenue
Don't expect much from Miser McCann's except a perfectly poured pint. The food isn't great and the service isn't much better, but it's the fanciest place in town!
Tome Traders (Bookstore) -- 57 Ardmore Avenue
Indulge your lifetime love of literature with a book from Tome Traders.
City Hall (City Hall) -- 55 Ardmore Avenue
This is the center of the town. Not much happens in this building, but everything happens around it.
Slainte chugat Harmony Hospital (Hospital) -- 53 Ardmore Avenue
This hospital doesn't use the "latest equipment" but finds its healing powers in the tough and experienced hands of the healers in town.
Practice Pit Gymnasium (Gym) -- 41 Elm Grove
• Freedom Books (Library) -- 43 Elm Grove
Playful Park (Big Park) -- 83 Claddagh Court
City Cairn Memorial Lot (Graveyard) -- 84 Claddagh Court
• Community Garden (Small Park) -- 51 Elm Grove
• Myth, Legend, Lore, and Fact Facility (Science) -- 40 Elm Grove
The MLLFF is no stranger to lore, in fact they treat it as fact! There is a lot we can learn from lessons of the past and no lesson is too small.
Heart and History Art Gallery -- 42 Elm Grove
Garda Police and Military (Police Station & Military Base) -- 44 Elm Grove
The Police and Military serve less as crime prevention and more as attack preparation. Adult Dragons were a fierce competitor, and the townspeople need to be prepared.
Like Minded Individuals, Inc. (Business) -- 46 Elm Grove
This town is too small for greed. Everyone that works here knows that they have to better the life of the common man through good business practices and fair wages.
The Local Grocer (Grocery Store & Diner) -- 50 Elm Grove
Anytime a cook needs something in town they always tell folks to go to "the local grocer". This confusion led all of the other grocers in town to become personal farmers instead.
World's Theatre (Theatre) -- 13 Clover Drive
The World's Theatre has some of the best entertainment in, well, the world!
Swimmer's Safety Practice Pool (Pool) -- 11 Clover Drive
Ubiquitous Unity Day Spa (Spa) -- 10 Clover Drive
The "Spa" is where Sims go to feel one with the wisdom of the water and the earth.
McCafferty's Pub (Visitors Allowed) -- 72 Shillelagh Street
Feudal Fishing Spot (Fishing Spot) -- 7 MIthrilen Manor

Other places!

• Tourney Tent of Novices (Stadium) -- 49 Aine Avenue
This tourney tent is a great place for novice competitors to train for the next level.
Location: Using the Downtown picture as a guide - follow the road going to the right.
• Drake School of Life and Learning (School) -- 101 O'Connell Heights
Education is incredibly important in Dragon Valley. It is the only thing that will make sure future generations are protected from Dragons.
Location: Using the Downtown picture as a guide - Look to the hills just out of view in the top right. You can't miss the building.
• Mithrilen's Madmen Hideaway (Criminal) -- 28 Clover Drive
There are some passionate folks in town that agree that the Mithrilen family should be in charge again. And they'll do what they can to make that happen. By any means necessary.
Location: Using the Downtown Picture as a guide - This building can be found south of the spa on the other side of the ridge. You have to follow the road leading west from the World's Theatre to get around to it.
• Cladach Beach (Beach) -- 68 Oak Grove
Location: Follow the road leading to the west from Feudal Fishing Spot. The beach rests along the shore line just before you get to the island bridge.
• Traigh Mhor Beach (Beach) -- 69 Oak Grove
Location: Along the north of the town is a set of cliffs, this beach can be found on the other side just northwest of Feudal Fishing Spot.
• Dragon Tavern (No Visitors Allowed) -- 23 Clover Drive
Location: Follow the road going west from the World's Theatre and you'll come across this charming little spot.
• Mol Beach (Beach) -- 25 Clover Drive
Location: Keep following the road past Dragon Tavern to curve around the edge of the cliff in town. This beach is south of the cliff edge ruins and right next to the destroyed pier.
• Crios Pond (Fishing Spot) -- 40 Cian Road
Location: This little fishing spot is hidden on the eastern bank of the loch on the southern side of town.

                                                        Backstory

This "backstory" is given to us by EA, under that designated tab. It's more of campaign urging the residents to choose Mithrilen for mayor. Here it is;

You all walk around with dragons on your arms as pets, but don't you see? We're just recovering; we've finally rebuilt after the original Dragons ravaged our land.

The O'Connells "land" in our world with their way of taming dragons and we've been following them ever since! When is was we, the Mithrilens, that used to keep the town safe!"

Don't let them pull the wool over your eyes. Just look at the dragons, they're supposed to be "babies" but each one does something even more dastardly than the last!

This will only end in misery, so let us help you. The Mithrilen family knows our ways, our traditions, and our bond with the land. Let us guide you to safety, before it's too late."

                                                     Mithrilen for Mayor
                                                     Before it's too late.

                                                             Collectibles

There are many new collectibles that come with Dragon Valley, such as the Raie Butterfly and Rainbow Gem. These collectibles can be found around the town is random but specific places.

                                              Who Lives Here? - Residents

This town comes with 23 pre-made families. Most of them have very colorful skin because of the update from EA that was released around the time that Dragon Valley was, which gave us new sliders. A lot of them also have pointy ears and bright eyes because of their elven descent. Actually, there are very few Sims in this town without bright skin and pointed ears. Now here is a complete list of the starting families:

• The Burb Household - John and Jennifer tried to sail around the world as one last "hurrah" before their wedding day and somehow ended up here! The adventure for this couple is just beginning, but will they be able to find a way back home before their big day?

• The Cromos Household - Riley Cromos has been living the hard life, raising his daughter alone. He loves her more than anything, but as a struggling baker it's getting harder and harder to make ends meet and find ways to relate a soon-to-be teenage girl. Can they handle the growing pains or will this weakened family be over-powered?

• The Delaney Household - Emma loves her father and their eco-conscious lifestyle, but she yearns for a bit more freedom. What's the harm in eating out on disposable paper products every once in awhile or driving a modern automobile? She wants to teach her father that you can save the earth and live in it too.

• The Dolan Household - Finn never imagined that he'd marry the girl who rescued him from a vicious wolf attack all of those years ago, but there he is living an elderly grandmother and a beautiful wife with the affinity for red hoods. Now that they're expecting their first child, he wonders if it's time to increase his vigilant watch for danger or to begin to let down his guard?

• The Eames Household - Maeve lived her life on a ship. Her father was the captain of the ship and her youth was spent pillaging towns with her best friend, Martin. Now married and in their adulthood, Maeve and Martin are having a hard time getting used to the parent life with their young song, Liam. With another little one on the way, the question is will they settle or will they sail?

• The Finnigan Household - Aaron never believed this gold at the end of a rainbow business, but he can't help notice that good things have a habit of coming his way. Successful in business and a serious relationship with the beautiful Siobahn Murphy? Maybe he's lucky...

• The Flanagan Household - Playing the fool is simple when you have an ulterior motive. Quinn uses his charm and humor to get close to Sims for their secrets! He's the town gossip columnist and gossip comes easy when you make people laugh.

• The Grey Household - Hugh Grey lives in quiet isolation and he likes it that way. Out at his lighthouse he can spend his days writing novels, maintaining his garden, and keeping the waters safe. He likes the peach of his lonely life, but will a new romance with Nessie Lochlan spark some color in all of the grey?

• The Hooley Household - Robin loves the common man and will do anything he can to help, illegal or not. He and his Marian have very money and few possessions because he keeps giving them away! He has good intentions, but Marian hopes to teach him that stealing isn't the way to go.

• The Kelly Household - Ava Kelly is young, fierce, and wants to make a name for herself in town. That name is Kelly; Ava Kelly. Sean loves his driven wife and he'll do anything to help her get ahead, even if that means making a name for himself just to stay at her side...

• The Lochlan Household - The Loch Ness Monster is real! Or is it? Nessie is an aspiring journalist and her star is rising! All she needs to do is keep taking pictures of this mysterious "monster" in the water and her job will promote itself! With her career in order, she's hoping to get her romantic life underway with the mysterious lighthouse keeper, Mr. Grey.

• The MacAnna Household - Teagan is the exact opposite of her sweet, innocent sister, Shannon. Dark and devious to the bone, she does whatever she wants with reckless abandon and no consideration for others. Who cares if there's no "I" in Team? There's an "I" in Mine and that's all that matters.

• The MacGrath Household - Bradan is the ultimate champion and the one that everyone pays to see. He can vanquish any foe and conquer and competitor in sight with ease. He's number one and always will be. It's probably best not to get in his way...

• The McCann Household - Lorna is the source of all good in Dragon Valley. No one knows her true age and it's almost as if she's lived forever. She's loving, kind, and always knows how to cure what ails you. Her healing isn't just homeopathic or scientific, it's practically magic.

• The Mithrilen Household - Fintan still holds bitterness in his heart over the Mithrilen family being unseated as leaders in town. He still can't believe how quickly everyone took to the foreign O'Connell family and he believes that they should have stayed on guard rather than letting little dragons into their lives. He will protest his town no matter what, but will his anger and obsession hurt his family in the long run?

• The O'Connell Household - The O'Connell household has been leading the town since their great-great-grandfather, Captain O'Connell, landed her and helped the town tame the dragons. They love caring for the town, but they are starting to wonder if demoncracy isn't more the way.

• The O'Reilly Household - Women! Women! Women! They're all that Conor sees. He opens his eyes to his youngest daughter vying for his attention and closes his eyes to his harried wife–hopig for some rest–with a sprinkle of teenage daughter rolling her eyes at him in between. What a life! He's overwhelmed, but he wouldn't change a minute of it.

• The O'Shea Household - Kearney and Breandan are always jousting to be the best. When Breandan got muscles, Kearney got better muscles! When Kearney got a girlfriend, Breandon got a prettier girlfriend! When Breandan joined law enforcement, Kearney joined the military! Kearney thinks he's the better brother–but then again, so does Breandan! When will they learn that they're really quite the same?

• The Ordhen Household - Daric loves his garden. There's nothing he loves more than his garden. He would spend all of his time his garden if he could, but eating, sleeping and other human "necessities" get in the way. If only he could be a statue, then he could stay in his garden forever...

• The Prendergast Household - Cassidy was never able to have children of her own, but it doesn't matter. There are always children in town without parents: parents lost to Dragon Fires, house fires, fire fires... Times are tough and orphans need love too.

• The Sackholme Household - Bad things always seem to happen to Susie and Mason. Though they have good intentions, they usually fall prey to some scheme or attack and danger seems to follow them wherever they go. That doesn't keep the men in women in town from being hopelessly attracted to them, however. Some think it's because there may be fairy in their bloodline.

• The Walsh Household - Aislinn Walsh makes some of the best food in town, but isn't the most stable person around. Everyone knows how productive the farms are in their secluded town, but where did Aislinn get all of this meat?

Thank you for reading this helpful guide on Dragon Valley. Now, here's a free download , so you can play, too!

The Sims 3 Guide to Alchemy

Hello, everybody! Today, I'll be giving you some tips and tricks on how to improve your alchemy skill and succeed in your self-employment. Alchemy came with Supernatural and has been a favorite skill of many since Supernatural was released. Sometimes, though, the skill can be quite confusing (I know, I've been there!) so let's jump right into learning what the elixirs your Alchemist makes can do.

Elixirs have great powers. They can spark a friendship between two Sims, turn them into a Vampire, or even set a hive of angry bees on them! Elixirs need special ingredients that your Sim can find at Aleister's Elixirs and Sundries or even around town in gardens, on the ground, etc.

To start researching Alchemy, buy the Alchemy station in Buy mode (you can find it under Hobbies or in the Supernatural collection folder). Then, simply click the station and choose "Research Alchemy" which will improve your skill and help your Sim will learn new recipes for elixirs.

The Philosopher's Stone

If you clear your list of opportunities after you get to level 10, you will get a variety of little quests to find various items. After this is complete, you will receive the magical Philosopher's stone which can do two very cool things. One of them is called transmuting which you do by paying around $100 simoleons and allows you to turn a Sim into a Gold Ingot, though if this process doesn't work the Sim will be killed. If you have a death flower handy, then you can bring killed Sims back to life and keep the statue (worth $60,000 simoleons!) but if not, you will only get the statue.
The next thing you can do with the stone is forcing a ghost to join your family. This action is called "Binding" a ghost and it will work on any ghost around town.

Here is a complete list of the elixirs in this game:

Ad Nauseum (Level 1) - you will need an insect - this potion gives the Sim subjected the "Nauseous" moodlet, lasting for two hours and causing them to puke.
Vial of Bliss (Level 1) - you will need an item of food - fills your Sims fun and social bars up by 50%.
Flask of Sleep (Level 1) - you will need a mushroom - lowers the Sim subjected's energy bar by a quarter.
Invigorating Elixir (Level 1) - you will need Wolfsbane - fills your Sim's energy bar completely.
Jar of Discord (Level 2) - you sim will need a Mandrake root - this potion will give a Sim the "Upset" moodlet for 3 hours.
Jar of Friendship (Level 2) - you will need a Red Valerian root - if a Sim uses this on someone, will immediately become friends.
Cure Elixir (Level 2) - you will need a Red Valerian Root and a Mandrake root - cures Sims with the sad clown, pestilence, toadification and Zombie curses.
Flask of Angry Bees (Level 2) - you will need Beeswax and Honey - throw this potion at any Sim for a hive of angry bees to attack them.

Now, after going through all of these great elixirs, let's visit some questions people have about the Alchemy skill.

Q: How do I turn my cursed Sim from a Supernatural back to a human?
A: You can cure any Supernatural by simply mixing up or buying a Potent Cure Elixir. If you want to mix it up, your Alchemist will need to be a level 7.

Q: Where can I find ingredients for my potions and elixirs?
A: You can find ingredients for your elixirs around town (in the park, at fishing spots, etcetera) but you can also buy them at the Alchemy store. If you have a Fairy or another Sim that gardens, they can also grow you ingredients. Also,  buy the bee box and you can harvest honey and beeswax, which lots of elixirs use. If you're still having bad luck finding ingredients around town, you can go to buy mode, type testingcheatsenabled true into the cheat bar (get that by pressing Command, Shift, C) and then type buydebug, go into the Sort By Function tab and a box with a little question mark will pop up and after you click it, you will see tabs for Gems, Plants, Fish, Seeds, (etcetera) spawners.

Q: How do I make money in the Alchemy profession?
A: If your Sim has extra ingredients (like Beeswax from your bee box or plants from your Sim's garden) and elixirs, they can consign them at the Alchemy store. You won't make the money for them right away, though, as you have to wait for some other Sim to buy them (which is how consigning works) and then you will get your money. Sims will often buy consigned items for sometimes double the sell price so you get more money for the wait, resulting in more "Job Experience".
